We've all heard about it and are getting ready for it...referred to in the industry as RoHS from the European Union. In plain English it stands for the Restrictions of the use of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment. What this means to all of us in the electronics business is that we need to start soldering and designing/building circuits that are lead-free. What to do about it? Solder will be composed of Tin, Copper, and Silver components therefore lacking lead, the most common component thought of in regards to soldering.
