The DP02 and DP02CF have the hands-on simplicity of classic 8-track recorders combined with the editing flexibility of CD-quality digital, and they're so simple anyone can use them! Just plug in and hit record on one of the eight channel strips and you're laying down a CD quality track! No clunky digital menus here, you've got actual knobs and buttons for the most important functions! EVERYTHING YOU COULD EVER ASK FOR!
These studio mixers use their LCD screens for what LCD screens are really good at... giving you visual feedback on levels, song position and track editing. Each of the 8 channel input/fader strips include high and low semi-parametic EQ with 100Hz and 10kHz center defaults; effects send controls the amount of effects on the channel; pan control for assigning a sound to the left or right in the stereo sound field; dedicated record button; mute LED; 45mm channel fader; and input buttons to assign your instruments or mics to a pair of the eight channels. In addition, there is an effects control strip with multiple reverb types, each with variable parameters; cursor controls; jog/shuttle for data input and editing; editing controls; real workstation controls for setting and locating in/out points, inserting segments, etc.; transport controls; stereo/dual mono input select; jack for optional footswitch (allows hands free punch-in and punchouts!); and a headphone output with level control. A built-in 40 gig internal hard drive on the DP02 gives the user plenty of space for tons of songs, vocal tracks, instrument tracks as well as storage of .wav files. The DP02CF has no hard drive, but records directly onto versatile and portable CompactFlash cards. For the final mix, both units have a built-in CD-RW drive that can turn your 2-track master mixdown into a Red Book CD or, back up the hard drive/CompactFlash card or even import and export .wav files! Simplicity in recording can't get any better! Perfect for anyone who needs better-than-cassette quality recording but without expensive hardware or complex computer-based recording systems.
